Art Classes in London

Art in London organises regular Life-Drawing classes in the heart of Notting Hill

The Portobello Drawing Academy, open to all artists regardless of age or ability, meet each Thursday at 6:30pm. The classes are run by Ron Best RCA, Ali Yanya RCA and Doreen Mann. Budding Lucien Freuds can perfect their skills under the guidance of professional tutors and even raw beginners are welcome.

Despite the continually-evolving techniques employed in contemporary art, drawing from the model continues to be the proven and accepted means of acquiring the skills and disciplines every artist requires. A mixture of short and lengthier poses are employed, allowing several works to be completed.

There is a very informal atmosphere and artists can simply turn up on the night without having to book. Classes run from 6:30pm to 9:00pm, with a short break for coffee and cost £10.

The Community Centre is located on the east side of Portobello Road between Elgin Crescent and Westbourne Grove, opposite 125 Central Gallery.

For further information, telephone Ron Best (07950 647485) or Doreen Mann (07944 691119) or e-mail:
